I'm not one for playing chess, but I do have a bit of a fascination with
checkerboard patterns. I seem to find it each time I'm in France.
Such as the picture above, which was taken in Paris at the historic Galerie Véro-Dodat.
And then this one at Versailles. Marie Antoinette's Grand Trianon.
Marie Antoinette's Petit Trianon.
The staircase at Musée Rodin in Paris.
Inside the queen's hamlet at Versailles.
Château de Chenonceau in the Loire Valley, France.
Ladurée's Alice in Wonderland tea party at the Printemps.
Would you care for a checkerboard floor in your house?

Wouldn't want one in my own house but it looks lovely in all these pictures. I want to go to France now!!!
I love that pattern and love it in my house!! Beautiful photos!! xx
I don't know if I'd want it in my own home... but you do make a very convincing argument!
I love it so I hope to put it in my laundry next time. Fiona
Had a checkerboard floor in my house growing up and I loved it! I chose my first apartment almost solely on the fact that it had checkerboard floors.
